NYFW 2020 Trending Hairstyles

NYFW 2020 Trending Hairstyles

Season after season, NYFW comes like a blur and leaves us with whiplash, not knowing what happened.

In case you needed a hair inspiration, we’ve rounded our favourite hair styles that were created with ORIBE products.

Here’s our 5 hair trends from NYFW S/S 2020 that you’ll want to rock immediately.

1) KATE SPADE - Scarves

NYFW 2020 Hairstyles Kate Spade Oribe

We loved that this show had a very diverse cast of models and hair textures. Lead hairstylist James Pecis, working with Oribe, decided to bring lots of volume and texture into the hair. He used Oribe’s Maximista Thickening Spray to coat the hair first and completed the look with ORIBE’s Swept Up Volume Powder Spray and then braided the ponytails into standard rope braids. Scarf-tied braided buns perfectly complemented the show’s theme: Women going to the flower market on a weekend morning.

2) NICOLE MILLER – Neon Knots

Oribe hairstylist Kien Houng brought the natural texture back with a curling wand and Maximista Thickening Spray, he also used the Foundation Mist to put a little setting into the hair textures. He then created little knots on the back of the head, leaving wispy pieces out here and there for a natural look. Before models went on the runway, he sprayed the knots with neon hair paint.

3) MARYAM NASSIR ZADEH - Loose braids and messy buns, crowned with scrunchies and scarf combo

NYFW 2020 Maryam Nassir x Oribe

Key stylist, Tamara McNaughton, used Oribe products to create loose braids and messy buns, crowned with a scrunchie and a scarf combo. For the Bun she applied Mystify Restyling Spray in small sections before straightening hair with a flat iron. After she brushed hair into ponytail, wrapped it into a small relaxed bun with bobby pins and added Volumista Mist for Volume at the roots. As for the loose braids, it all started with Foundation Mist to add a little weightless moisture.

Crème For Style was used to run through ponytail for sheen and brush through and Volumista Mist for Volume as a final touch to the roots.

4) SANDY LIANG - The 60’s Big Hair

NYFW Sandy Lyang x Oribe

Key stylist, Dennis Lanni, channeled the 60s with big hair, wigs, and small white bow decorative details. He used Maximista Thickening Spray and Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse for hair prep. Dry Texturizing Spray to help with hair curl and Superfine Hair Spray for hold.

5) GABRIELA HURST – Wrapped & Tucked Rope Braids

Gabriela Hurst x Oribe

James Pecis stated that he wanted to give models a bit of a strength by slicking the hair down. After working Oribe’s Gel Sérum through lengths, he pulled hair back into a low ponytail, which he then sectioned into two hands, twisting the pieces against each other before bending it back onto itself. He added a strip of black leather into a knot to provide the finishing decorative touch.
